Your Brand Profile is the set of details InfluenceKit holds about your brand: your description, website, Instagram handle, and category. These details power Signals (brand mentions, competitive insights, and AI Search) and they help Discovery find the right creators for you. Keep your Brand Profile accurate so the data we surface across InfluenceKit reflects your real brand.
What your Brand Profile controls
InfluenceKit uses the information in your Brand Profile in two main places:
Signals — your brand name, website, and description shape what we look for when we track brand mentions, competitive activity, and how your brand shows up in AI assistants (AI Search).
Discovery — your primary category and brand description help match your account to relevant creators and influencer recommendations.
Fields you can edit
On your Brand Profile settings page you can review and update:
Brand description — a short summary of what your brand does. This gives Signals and Discovery the context they need to be relevant.
Primary category — the single category that best describes your brand (for example, beauty, travel, food and beverage). See the note below on why this matters.
Website URL — your brand’s main website. Used to identify and verify your brand for mentions and visibility tracking.
Instagram handle — your brand’s Instagram username (with or without the @).
Details we generate for you
Some parts of your profile are filled in automatically from an analysis of your website and aren’t edited directly:
Brand name — captured from your website and shown for reference.
Brand details — additional context such as your products, brand values, target audience, and aesthetic, generated from your site.
Keywords — the terms we associate with your brand, used for mentions, AI Search, and creator matching.
These are all generated together from a single reading of your website, so they aren’t edited individually. If they look off, re-run the analysis (below) rather than trying to correct one of them by hand — a keyword that disagrees with the rest of the analysis would look fixed while your matching stayed wrong.
Re-running your brand analysis
Your analysis re-runs automatically whenever you change your website URL. You can also re-run it on demand — useful if the analysis describes the wrong site, if you have since redesigned or relaunched your website, or if your URL was corrected for you by support.
Open your Brand Profile settings page.
Confirm the website URL on the page is the site you want us to read.
Select Re-run analysis.
We’ll re-read your website and rebuild everything that came from it: your brand details, keywords, influencer recommendations, AI Search queries, and the competitors we discovered for you. This usually takes a few minutes — refresh the page to see the new analysis. The button is unavailable for a few minutes after each run while the current one finishes.
Anything you added yourself is left alone. AI Search queries you wrote, competitors you added by hand, and hashtags you track all survive a re-run — only the entries we generated are replaced.
One thing to know: if you have added a competitor of your own, we won’t run a fresh competitor discovery pass after a re-run, so your competitor list will be the ones you added. You can add more from the Competitors page at any time.
How to update your Brand Profile
Open your Brand Profile settings page from your account settings.
Update your brand description so it clearly explains what your brand does in plain language.
Choose the primary category that best fits your brand.
Confirm your website URL and Instagram handle are correct. The website should start with http:// or https://, and the Instagram handle should be your exact username.
Select Save Changes.
Why primary category matters for Discovery
Your primary category is one of the strongest signals InfluenceKit uses to match your brand with creators. When your category is accurate and consistent, Discovery surfaces more relevant creators and your influencer recommendations improve. When it is wrong, vague, or missing, the matches will be less useful. If you ever feel your Discovery results or recommendations are off, the first thing to check is that your primary category and brand description are correct.
Tips
Use a clear, specific brand description rather than marketing taglines — concrete language helps the matching work better.
Keep your website URL current. If you rebrand or change domains, update it here so mentions and visibility tracking stay accurate.
After you change your category or description, give Discovery a little time to refresh your recommendations.
If your Signals or Discovery results still do not look right after updating your Brand Profile, reach out to support and we will take a look.
