When you share a report by copying its link, whoever opens it may see a short form asking for an email address before the report appears. This article explains when that happens and what your options are.
Who sees the prompt
The prompt depends on the kind of account the report belongs to.
Creator accounts — anyone opening one of your report links is asked for an email address first.
Brand and agency accounts, and talent managers — report links open straight to the report. There is no prompt.
A few things also skip the prompt on any account:
Anyone already signed in to InfluenceKit. If your recipient has an account and is logged in, they go straight through.
Reports on a custom domain. If your account uses your own branded domain for reports, the prompt is turned off there.
The PDF version of a report.
What counts as a valid email
The form checks that the address is real and can receive mail. It doesn’t have to belong to the person opening the report, and nothing is sent to it automatically.
If your recipient would rather not give out their own address, they can enter yours. Anything that passes the check will let them through.
They only get asked once
Once someone enters an email, their browser remembers it for a year. Every later report you send them opens without a prompt.
If they’re asked again, it’s usually because they opened the link in a private window, on a different device or browser, or after clearing their site data.
If the prompt doesn’t fit how you work
Some creators share reports with clients who expect a clean, unguarded link. If that’s you, get in touch and we can look at turning the prompt off for your account.
